Dunnes drops dupe for viral shorts and they are a fraction of the price

by Louise Porter / 2 weeks ago

The heatwave is back and we will be living in these Dunnes shorts which are a dupe for a much more expensive brand.

We have said it once and we will say it again, we love a fashion trend or trendy piece, but the price tag that comes along with it usually turns us off. Unfortunately as parents we can’t always afford to hop on these trends; sure if there is something we really want we can budget for it or save up, but trends come and go so quickly that spending a fortune on them just isn’t an option.

Not when we have so many other things to pay for.

That’s why we love when we spot a fashion dupe so we can get the look for less and Dunnes has done it again with their latest drop.

This Dunnes dupe is identical to a more expensive brand

Irish mum Fathima Potts spotted a brilliant dupe for the trendy Alo Match Point Shorts which retail for €68. A bit over our budget for shorts – we aren’t always guaranteed the weather for them after all.

But they are so fab and everywhere on social media at the moment, so if we can get the look for less we certainly will.

Luckily, Dunnes is here to the rescue with their almost identical pair and they cost less than a quarter of the price at just €15. They are the Jacquard Waist Woven Shorts and just like the Alo version they have a ‘skirt inspired silhouette’, side pockets and an elasticated waist band for ‘a secure, flattering fit’.

Taking to Instagram, Fathima showed off ‘fab’ pink and red versions of the shorts, saying: ‘Can we all agree that these are very very similar to the Alo ones!’ and yes, people did agree.

In fact, people loved them, with some saying they bought themselves and others planning on picking up a pair.

‘Ordered both this morning,’ one person said and someone else added: ‘Stunning I got for my daughter.’

A third person added that they are also a dupe for a Lululemon pair, writing: ‘Also very similar to the pink lululemon shorts I’m after spending a fortune on.’

Technically they are workout shorts, the website describes them as ‘designed for lasting comfort during every workout’. But we know that we will be wearing them all summer long for everything, the leggings of the summer, if you will.
