‘Botox in a bottle’ at the budget price of €11 – tell us more!

As busy mums, sometimes the first place is to show tiredness is our skin but if you’re not willing to go down the injectables route then this serum might be of interest…

K-beauty products are considered THE best at the moment but for all the glass skin patches and peptide serums we are lapping up, we haven’t stopped to wonder what is popular in Korea beyond the basics we all use every day.

Here, we think Botox and fillers are standard in beauty, while adding other treatments like laser and LED masks is a bonus beauty habit. But what is going on in South Korea? Do things like that exist there at all?

Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by everymum.

!Woman getting botox with long eyelashes, botox in a bottleBotox is a brand name for a neuromodulator that softens facial lines by preventing the muscles underneath from contracting and moving. When the muscles are immobile, the skin above them relaxes and smooths.

Is this product ‘Botox in a bottle’?

Other brands include Dysport and Xeomin, but in Korea, they use Letybo, another neuromodulator that costs about the same as getting your hair done. How they use it is slightly different, too. A popular treatment is Letybo mixed with hyaluronic acid filler, which gives the skin a glass-like glow and adds moisture when used as a shallow skin-booster injection.

Volufiline is used on different parts of the face that need plumping, such as the lips, temples, cheeks, and under-eye area, if needed. Found in serums like The Ordinary Volufiline 92% + Pal-Isoleucine 1%, it is gaining ground here too as an alternative to filler, especially for the lips, €22.43.

The 10% Argireline Solution is a plumping, hydrating peptide compound that mimics the line-erasing injectable, relaxing the skin and filling out facial lines.

Also known as acetyl hexapeptide-8, Argireline is a peptide with a muscle-relaxing effect on the skin. It won’t replicate the stronger effects of Botox, but it will soften crow’s feet and facial lines as long as you use it.

It costs €11.20 for a 30ml bottle, so it’s a very affordable option to add to your regimen if injectables aren’t of interest yet. If you do get wrinkle-smoothing injections, you can use this ‘Botox in a bottle’ to extend the effects between appointments.
