Kathryn Thomas can’t quite believe how fast time is going by as her youngest daughter heads for a big life milestone.
Having kids really makes you appreciate life. Unfortunately, once you have kids, life also seems to speed up by 10. One day, we are holding our tiny newborn in our arms, the next they are starting school and before we know it, they are doing their Leaving Cert and trying to figure out what they want to do with their adult lives.
It brings a tear to our eye if we dwell on it too much.
Kathryn Thomas’ youngest daughter, Grace, four, is preparing to start school in September and it’s making the radio host realise just how fast time is passing by.
‘The years are going by so, so quickly… Ellie is 8 and Grace is 4. Grace is starting school in September,’ Kathryn told RSVP.

While many of Kathryn’s friends have older children, they are all sharing one life experience: the experience of how quickly time is going. ‘A lot of my friends have kids who are a lot older than mine, because we were late to the table,’ the mum-of-two told the publication.
‘But the one message when I go out with the girls is the same – we all say how quickly the years have gone by.’
‘A lot of my friends, their kids went into secondary school last year, and my godson did his Junior Cert,’ she added.

This follows Kathryn opening up about her decision to stop HRT after six months of taking the hormonal supplement. Speaking to the Irish Independent, earlier this year Kathryn Thomas said she stopped it because ‘it didn’t give me what I thought’.
‘I thought I was going to feel a million dollars after this. I thought I was going to be hopping into the bed with my husband.’
Kathryn found libido and energy to be the biggest issues she wanted HRT to tackle, adding: ‘I wasn’t sleeping. I was waking up at 2.50am, 2.56am, 5.57am… HRT didn’t really give me the energy. I still wasn’t sleeping. I came off it.’
