Helen Flanagan has revealed that she raises her children ‘with’ her parents, but some have criticised her admission.
Grandparents often play a vital role in raising children, especially if you are a single parent, and for Helen Flanagan, her parents are a massive support.
The actress, who is best known for playing the role of Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, split from her partner Scott Sinclair in 2022 after a 13-year relationship. And as a busy working mum, she relies on her family to help her out ‘every day’.Speaking to Vanessa Feltz on Vanessa recently, the mum-of-three revealed how involved her parents were with raising her children.

‘I really bring up my children with my mum and dad. They help me every day,’ she said.
Helen admitted that although it sounds ‘really bad’ but she doesn’t have the school’s app on her phone, her mum does and she helps Helen’s children, Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie, with ‘all’ their homework.
‘My mum actually runs all my kids’ schedules,’ Helen continued. ‘My kids have to many activities, football and stuff and then because I’m always working my just mum goes “right Helen, you’re doing this, you’re doing that”. She does all my washing, all the uniforms. My mum does all the cooking.’

Helen Flanagan divides comments
Vanessa claimed that Helen’s mum was a ‘saint’ and many people in the comments agreed, writing ‘What a team you and your mum are,’ and ‘She really is lucky to have that support’.
However, not everyone was so complimentary, with some surprised by how much the 35 year old’s mum actually does. ‘I can’t imagine so flippantly saying you don’t raise your children, like why would you and your partner have them? I understand nans and grandads can help out, maybe babysit here and there, but doing your washing and telling you where you need to be, she’s your assistant and maid, that’s so sad,’ said one.
Another added: ‘Wow I’d be embarrassed to admit that my mom was literally bringing up my children in every way,’ and a third said: ‘Most single parents have jobs, and can still get their children to school, clubs and help with homework. I’m was a single parent doing the parent stuff. Hate to say all that, but truly give it a go. Before you know it they will be grown up and you will have missed so much.’
