Doireann Garrihy is every mum as she takes her first holiday without her daughter, but it’s for a very important reason.

Leaving your baby overnight for the first time can be daunting, but it is important to do so from time to time. Whether you are celebrating friends, attending a family event or just having some much-needed one-on-one time with your partner, baby is always well cared for, and you tend to be more upset than they are.

Which is the way it should be!

Poor Doireann admitted that she was ‘rattled’ leaving baby Rosie for a few days as she headed away to Portugal on Thursday to celebrate friend Kate O’Neill and her fiancé Michael O’Malley’s nuptials this weekend.

But Doireann was feeling the stress about leaving eight-month-old Rosie, but enjoyed a little with a glass of airport bubbles, which is an unwritten rule when at Dublin Airport.

Telling followers how she was spending her solo airport time, the podcaster said: ‘I may be rattled about leaving my baby for the first time overnight, but I’m also honoured to be taking on the role of Charleen Murphy Watch at Dublin Airport.’

‘Absolutely no one has asked me to take on this role, but I’m honoured to volunteer as tribute,’ the mum joked.

Doireann made it to Portugal safely, although without spotting Charlene, it seems, and reunited with her beau, Mark Mehigan. The couple seem to be enjoying their time alone together before the celebrations this weekend.
