This fab Dunnes maxi dress is pretty much a dupe of a €270 designer one

by Trine Jensen / 1 month ago

Just Dunnes Stores doing a stellar job of sorting out our entire holiday wardrobe as per usual.

From the perfect co-ord for holiday date-nights, to the wear-everywhere jacket of dreams, our favourite Irish high street store is killing it at the moment.

Right now, two weeks out from the school holidays, we are all presumably busy planning what to pack for our summer holidays. And right on cue, Dunnes has now dropped a gorgeous maxi dress with tropical vibes, ideal for throwing over your bikini or even as evening wear with some blinged up sandals when you are away.

The Soleil Linen Mix Midi Dress is part of the stores’ popular Savida range, and made from cotton, and linen, and not synthetic fabrics, which we love.

The dress has such a flattering fit as it is made with a fitted bodice and a flowing A-line skirt, and we love the just-above-the-ankle length too, not to mention the cute bow at the back.

The dress is a total steal too at just €35, but we have to say, our favourite thing of all is the adorable tropical print, featuring bananas, sunshine and palm leaves.

In fact, the whole dress is totally giving tropics, and is actually strikingly similar to a much more expensive designer one by Brazilian brand Farm Rio, currently on sale for €189 (marked down from €270) at Net-a-porter.

Similar to the Dunnes dress above, the Farm Rio version is also a maxi dress, is made from cotton and features a fun, tropical print, this time with birds rather than bananas, but there is no denying that the vibes are the same.

The two dresses are undeniably very similar in style and print, but we have to say, we love how sexy the Farm Rio version is in the back, with the very low cut, and we also love the really flowy style of the dress.

However, are we willing to pay north of €150 euros just for the back and the flow?

We think not…! So Dunnes it is, I reckon. On the plus side, we’ll have more money left over to enjoy ourselves on the holidays.
