Gemma Atkinson Reveals Brutally Honest Comment Mia, 4, Made Days After She Gave Birth

by Trine Jensen Burke / 3 years ago

Thankfully, the new mum saw the funny side.

Gemma Atkinson is a brand new mum-of-two, having just welcomed her second baby with her partner, Strictly Come Dancing star, Gorka Marquez.

Atkinson gave birth to a little boy last week, and within a couple of days took to Instagram to reveal that they had decided to name him Thiago Thomas Marquez. Or Tio for short.

From before, the couple are parents to four-year-old Mia, whom Gemma has already revealed has been all sorts of excited to become a big sister.

And now the atress and radio presenter has again taken to social media to share a relatable – yet brutally honest – update into how life as a family of four is going.

‘Why Does Your Tummy Still Look Like It Has A Baby In It?’

In a funny update on Instagram stories, the 38-year-old shared how little Mia had come to her to ask why she still had a bump – despite having actually had the baby.

She wrote:

“Mia just sat me down, looked me in the eye with that deep in thought look and said, “Mummy, why does your tummy still look like it has a baby in it even though my brother is out?”.”

But, thankfully, the mum-of-two clearly saw the funny side, adding three cry-laugh emojis to her post.

‘Ok You…’

In a later Instagram story update, Atkinson also shared a sweet video of her four-year-old bonding with her new baby brother, as the newborn grasps at Mia’s finger.

‘Ok you,’ Mia sternly tells little Thiago – before patting him gently on the head and reminds him: “Stop messing around with my finger.”

And like every mum knows, time really flies when you have kids – and yesterday, Gemma shared another post-baby update, where she revealed that little Thiago is already a week old.

“Crikey, a week?”, the former Hollyoaks actress asks, before explaining how her partner has now left for Strictly rehearsals, leaving her to juggle life as a mum-of-two.

“Hair’s not washed yet” Atkinson adds, “but that’s fine [because of] my dry shampoo.”
