Niamh de Brún thanks stranger for random act of kindness as baby son is hospitalised

by Joan Larkin / 2 months ago

Lifestyle influencer and content creator Niamh de Brún has opened up about a recent stressful day and how a random act of kindness from a stranger made it so much better.

Niamh, who is married to Kilkenny hurler TJ Reid, and shares two young children with the sports star, revealed that their youngest, little Seán Óg, recently had to be admitted to hospital for treatment.

Chatting on social media, the mum of two said:

‘I went to the doctor with the two of them this afternoon, and the doctor referred him over to the hospital, so I have been with him since this afternoon.’

When TJ came to take over at the hospital so Niamh and their little girl, Harper, could take a break, Niamh tells how she decided to go through the McDonald’s drive-thru for something quick to eat.

While waiting to pay for her order at the window, Niamh was told that the people in the car in front of hers had already paid for her food.

‘I was going through the drive-thru at McDonald’s to get her (Harper’s) dinner, very healthy, I know. We went to pay, and the man was like, ‘Oh, the car in front of you has paid for your order.’

Niamh explained how the simple gesture gave her a badly needed pick-me-up at the time. With her baby son in the hospital and being stressed and worried about him, it is amazing how strangers can pick a random moment to ‘pay it forward,’ as they say, and, in doing so, make someone’s day a little better.

‘It was a lovely little pick me up this evening, with Sean Óg going into hospital, and obviously he’ll be fine, but we’re worried about him, so it was just a really nice deed.
