Molly-Mae Hague recently posted a behind the scenes look at her son’s nursery and like many influencer posts, it received a mixed reaction.

The mum of two shared some images of her little boy’s room but followers were quick to question one item in particular.

Photos posted on her home account, Molly Maison, showed a neutral room with built-in floor-to-ceiling backlit shelving and the infamous clear cot she also used for her daughter, Bambi.

On the shelves were a selection of accessories, including cute teddies, a Jellycat flower, and building blocks spelling out the little lad’s unusual name.

However, it was the item sitting next to the Jellycat flower that caused quite a stir in the comments section, as Molly-Mae has placed a diffuser on the shelves.

In less than 24 hours, the mum of two received an explosive reaction from some, although many others have come rushing to her defence.

One person wrote, ‘Please don’t use a reed diffuser or other air freshener devices in a newborn room as inhaled chemicals can cause allergies or other respiratory issues’.

While another chimed in to say, ‘Get the reed diffuser out. Now’.

Following a few videos on TikTok recounting the negative reaction, many comments were on Molly-Mae’s side.

A TikToker wrote, ‘All of these experts on baby safety don’t realise babies sleep in the room with you for the first six months, he won’t be sleeping in that nursery anyway!’

Another added, ‘Have people seriously not got anything better to worry about?’

Sharing her post on Friday, Molly-Mae said: ‘Midas’ nursery… We reused the cot and cloud lights from Bambi’s nursery because I loved them so much.

‘It feels really special having them in his room at our new house too.’

Speaking of the cot, fans have plenty to say about that as well. Some people criticised its clear design, saying it looked more like a ‘pet enclosure’ than a bed for a baby.

Others were less critical, though, with one person standing up for Molly-Mae and saying it’s good to see her reusing it, considering the price.

‘It’s a £9k cot, it’s ok to reuse it,’ they wrote, while someone else commented: ‘Thank you for showing that repurposing items is not just because of a lack of money but because it can be done purposefully and sentimentally.’

Between a toddler, a newborn, and her millions of followers watching her every move, the young mum certainly has her work cut out!
