Doireann Garrihy has given an insight into motherhood, revealing one of her biggest supports after welcoming her daughter Rosie and what a change parenthood has been.

The podcaster gave birth to her daughter, Rosie, in October and credits her sisters, both of whom also became mothers again in recent months, with helping her find her feet.

Doireann will also be leaning heavily on her family when she hits the road in May with The Laughs Of Your Life podcast tour.

‘It’s kind of the greatest and hardest thing I’ve ever done. Like, she’s the dream, and she’s a gorgeous little girl.’

Doireann adorably revealed that she is starting to see Rosie’s personality develop, but also acknowledged that the responsibility of being a parent can be ‘terrifying.’

‘It’s equal parts terrifying and amazing when you go: this is a little person I’ve brought into the world, and I’m responsible for, but at the same time, it’s just the greatest.’

Speaking about how she has found her sisters Aoibhin and Ailbhe’s support to be vital, she said: ‘I don’t know what I would be like or how I would have managed over the past while without being able to lean on them.’

She explained that it’s not just parenting tips that she has picked up from her big sisters, but also regularly seeks their advice on life dilemmas as well.

Ailbhe welcomed her third son, a baby boy named Cian, in November, while Aoibhín became a mum again in March.

Doireann’s words on motherhood came as she and her sisters enjoyed a staycation recently.
