Doireann Garrihy was emotional as she left her baby on holiday after a work opportunity forced her to make a last-minute change to their plans.
The 2FM star and her husband Mark Mehigan have been making cherished memories with their daughter Rosie as they vacation in Spain.
She reported to her followers via social media that she had to fly home for a full day of filming, but thankfully that wasn’t the end of her trip altogether.

‘I just arrived in Malaga Airport, feeling like I’m missing a limb… I’m flying home tonight, doing it tomorrow and coming back here on Wednesday morning. The holiday is till Sunday.’
While she would only be apart from her baby girl for less than 32 hours she admitted that it felt ‘extremely strange’.
She reflected on attending a wedding in Portugal recently without her daughter but that this time felt different.
‘It’s one thing to go away and for your baby to stay at home with family or friends. For her to be staying abroad… It just feels weird.’
‘Mothers will get it and fathers will get it,’ the broadcaster added.
The new mum gave herself the friendly reminder that work schedules can change all the time for parents and that she has to allow herself to enjoy a little bit of alone time.
Doireann has been very open about how she’s finding the early days of motherhood and she previously admitted that she was ‘jittery’ to return to the airwaves after maternity leave.
