The name is Liam and it’s no surprise that it is favoured across the pond. It’s the type of name that really grows with a child, suiting both a little baby and a fully fledged adult.
Liam was formerly a nickname for William but it now stands alone, surpassing William in popularity in a lot of countries [although in the US William is still in the top 10].
In Ireland Liam also made the top 10 in 2024, coming in at number eight, with 303 little boys given the name.
