A woman who is literally paid to come up with names for other people’s children has been criticised for the names she gave her own little ones.
Coming up with a name for your baby is a tricky task; there are just TONNES of names out there to choose from. And then sharing them is another level of pressure because not every name will be everyone’s cup of tea (although most people are too polite to say anything once the baby is born).
And we imagine that if you help people choose names for their children there is an added level of pressure to come up with the perfect name for your own. And if you are brave enough to share the names you picked on social media, you are really opening yourself up to criticism.
This is exactly what happened to name consultant Steph. She shares baby naming advice on TikTok and initially wanted to keep her kids’ names private. But when they were leaked in a comment, she decided to take matters into her own hands and share the names in a video.

The mum-of-three went through the potential names she and her husband considered for their children before revealing the names they actually picked.
Prefacing the video with the information that she named all of her children before she became a name consultant, Steph said that she named her kids:
- Euan
- Fitz
- Orianna
The names are unusual, but not TOO unusual, if you get me. However they garnered a lot of hate when she shared them online, with some people calling all three names ‘terrible’.
@nameswithsteph Throwback video but info hasn’t changed (obvs) the comment with my sons’ names was in 2022, and I believe I filmed this in 2024. I need to redo it with my new logo! #nameswithsteph #babynameconsultant #babynameinspiration #babynames #uncommonbabynames ♬ original sound – Steph | Name Consultant

One person took issue with how Steph pronounced the ‘anna’ part of Orianna. ‘Anna is -Ann-uh not Ah- nuh . Ah-nuh is Ana. So your daughters name should be pronounced as your husband does,’ they said and Steph replied: ‘I get this but also I want her name pronounced the way I do it!’
‘I fear you lost all credibility with these names,’ someone else added and a third chimed in with: ‘they’re all terrible’.
