July – and summer holidays – are here.
Finally.
School is out. The sun is shining. The air is balmy, and all we want to do is flock to the beach or head off somewhere far-flung for a glorious summer vacay. Happy summer vibes are in the air, and so maybe it’s no wonder then that July-born people tend to be happy, optimistic and smiley?
And if you are on the home stretch of your pregnancy, and expecting your baby this month, you might be interested to know that according to science, people born in July tend to have some pretty amazing things in common.
Because the thing is – whether or not you believe that your fate is written in the stars, it turns out that the month that you’re born in can actually play a significant role in your life.
Due this month? Here are five things to know about your little July-born babe:
1. They are born optimists
Research has shown that people born this month tend to have sunnier outlooks on life.
And scientists believe this is to do with the season we are currently in.
The “hyperthymic temperaments” most commonly found among spring and summer babies mean they are prone to “excessive positivity.”
In other words, you won’t have a grump on your hands!
2. They are either Cancer or Leo
If your little one’s birthday falls between July 1st and the 22nd of the month, he or she will be born under the Cancer zodiac sign. Cacners are known for being sensitive and nurturing, and also more emotionally intelligent than people born under other zodiac sign.
However, if his or her birthday falls between July 23rd and the end of the month, he or she will be a little Leo. And with Leo being a fire sign, people born under this zodiac signs are known to be dynamic, bold, and passionate.
3. They are in touch with their feelings
According to a Japanese study , babies born in the summer showed more “effortful control” than their autumn or winter peers by the age of 18 months.
And according to Mother.ly, this refers to their “ability to voluntarily choose a course of action under conditions of conflict and to plan for the future and detect errors.” And more effortful control is closely linked with greater emotional and behavioural regulation skills.
4. They might be left-handed
A small study conducted by UK website Anything Left-Handed found a significantly higher number of left-handed people born in July and August, while other research out of the University of Oxford found that babies born between March and July are more likely to be left-handed.
Why? Nobody knows.
5. They share a birth month with lots of famous people
If your baby is born in July, he or she will share a birth month with tons of famous people, including Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Will Ferrell, Sandra Bullock, Oscar De La Renta, Daniel Radcliffe and J.K. Rowling.
