Sinéad O’Brien and her husband, Simon Fitzgerald, have welcomed their adorable newborn into the world and shared the rare, yet very familiar name they chose.

The Irish influencer shared the sweet news on Thursday, after announcing her pregnancy in December, closing out 2025 on a high.

Sinead, who is already mum to a son named Jacob, announced that she and Simon were expecting a baby girl in January, and now she’s here!

‘Jessie Rose,’ Sinead wrote, sharing the moniker she and Simon had chosen for their little one. ‘04.06.26. Our girl has arrived.’ The name Jessie may be familiar but it’s very 90s and not chosen often at all these days. In 2025, it was given to just 11 babies, while 32 baby Jessicas were born, according to the CSO.

This compares to the 90s, when Jessica often fell in the top 20, Jessie on the other hand has always been less used as a given name.

Sinead has been very open and honest about her journey to growing her family. In the summer of 2025, she spoke about the devastating loss of her baby.

She shared the news in a touching Instagram post featuring a video montage. The emotional clip included footage of her son Jacob holding a baby scan, a tender moment of him giving her flowers, two poems about pregnancy loss, and a serene scene of her husband Simon and Jacob watching the sunset together- all set to Judy Garland’s Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

In her caption, Sinead wrote: ‘As this month comes to a close, July. It’s not an easy one to share, but having spent the last few weeks navigating our way through one of our most challenging times together offline, I want to send love and strength to anyone who has walked this path of grief.’

‘One of the things that has helped me through this is knowing I am not alone, and I hope I can bring comfort in the same way to anyone who is going through this,’ Sinead.

‘Be kind to yourself, as I have been. Thanks to my amazing family and friends, who I could not have gotten through any of this without.’

She also thanked her mum and her husband, Simon, whom she called her rock, as well as her son Jacob- her ‘everything and more’.
