Jesy Nelson celebrated a major milestone for her twin girls, Ocean and Story this month.
The twins turned one and while this milestone is an emotional occasion for any new parent, Jesy and her babies have experienced an incredibly challenging year.
The twins were diagnosed with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) Type 1 earlier this year and have been undergoing treatment for the genetic condition.
Furthermore, Jesy and the girl’s father, Zion Foster, called off their engagement at the start of the year. However, this week it was all about celebrating the girls.
The former Little Mix singer gave fans an insight into the party, posting several shots on her social media.
She wrote in the caption, ‘Happy 1st birthday, my Ocean and Story bear. I love you more than you will ever know.’
Standing in front of a birthday backdrop with pink coloured balloons, Jesy held her girls tight as she smiled for the camera.
‘Such a special day for the most special little girls. I’m so lucky I get to be your Muma,’ she said.
Jesy also posted a video saying, ‘I’m often asked to describe the experience of what it’s like to raise a child with a disability, to try to help people who have not had that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel’.
