The Limerick team kept up one of their most important traditions after their side beat Galway to be crowned the All-Ireland Hurling Champions on Sunday.
Before the boys in green travelled back home to a heroes’ welcome, they paid a visit to some special fans in Crumlin Children’s Hospital, alongside their manager John Kiely.
The champion hurlers posed with both patients and staff, proudly holding up the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

One lucky fan, baby Paige, even sat inside the cup as the players posed with her. It is tradition that the All-Ireland champions celebrate their win by paying a visit to the hospital.
After the sweet visit, the lads likely rushed to pack up and head back down the country towards Limerick, where they will begin homecoming celebrations in Pery Square this evening.

The team celebrated their win in Dublin last night, marking their sixth triumph in nine years. The team then stayed in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, in Dublin 4.
